Stargirl Butterfly Trip

Summers for me, remind me of Stargirl, one of my favorite books of all time is Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. Summer is a time for riding bikes, walking in the dessert, mediation, and just enjoying the sun. The story is about a girl who is a unique individual, a outcast at times, a girl who cares about people, and plants, and the world, who teaches people how to be themselves, and enjoy life, who makes a impression on one boy, and ends up disappearing in the end, but leaving a mark always.

This Butterfly Recycled T-Shirt reminds me of Stargirl (who would love soulflower no doubt), from the green and blue colors (like the book) to the butterfly design (like one of my favorite quotes about Stargirl) I went to the zoo the other day with family, and even though I am sure Stargirl wouldn't love zoos, I saw a few things that just reminded me of her and the story, from the old bike with a basket, to the desert scenery, then the butterflies on display. Kind of sad to see them all hanging there, yet amazing to see how gorgeous and unique and colorful they all were, really gorgeous to examine up close and admire...

"She was Elusive. She was today, she was tomorrow. She was the faintest scent of a cactus flower, the flitting shadow of a elf owl. We did not know what to make of her. In our minds we tried to pin her to a corkboard like a butterfly, but the pin merely went through and away she flew."

Peace,
Heather
